ABOUT EMILY SCOTT ROBINSON

Emily Scott Robinson is a Folk and Americana singer/songwriter with a dulcet voice and a gift for artful small-town storytelling. On her third album with Oh Boy Records, and her fifth since beginning her career a decade ago, Emily Scott Robinson once again unveils her mastery as a performer and storyteller. With her 2026 release Appalachia — recorded at Dreamland Recording Studios with Grammy-nominated producer Josh Kaufman — Robinson opens herself up to experimentation and sings in her crystal-clear voice about resilience, love, grief and hope.

PRESS & RADIO HIGHLIGHTS + ASSETS

PRESS

"Appalachia places Robinson among folk artist greats like Joni Mitchell and Mary McCaslin and Gillian Welch." - No Depression

"We know it's only January and there's a lot of 2026 still to go, but it's unlikely you'll hear a more beautiful country duet this year." - Holler premiere of "Cast Iron Heart"

"Its 10 tracks reveal her uncanny knack for conveying empathy, comfort, and compassion through a set of songs that explore topics such as a friend’s suicide, a grandparent’s death, her own divorce, and the destructive effects of Hurricane Helene on her home state of North Carolina." - Bluegrass Situation

"That prescience is dotted like mist over Appalachia, a set of heirloom-like tunes that are some of Robinson’s most lovingly crafted, sung in her purest, golden tone. In exploring her own history and the history of the place that made her, Robinson unveils what feels like wisdom for the future. Everything is cyclical, one can always start again." - No Depression

"Some albums we measure against their peers of a given year. For others, it’s necessary to venture to the catalogs of other years to find comparable works. Emily Scott Robinson’s Appalachia is one of those albums, with the only question left to resolve being what its impact might be. But for those who venture to listen, the impact will be alleviation, gratefulness, and a renewed fortitude to face life’s challenges and the fears we have of what’s happening in the world to the point of feeling nothing short of transformational." - Saving Country Music

"Robinson’s specialty is telling stories about the human condition in ways that are seemingly simple yet vivid and evocative—like pencil sketches that bloom into Technicolor daydreams when you close your eyes. Appalachia is filled with examples of that gift" - Bandcamp Daily (album of the day)

Appalachia doesn’t reach for catharsis or spectacle. It trusts quieter virtues: attention, patience, and care. These steady songs feel at home in the same places they were shaped by—rooms where people gather, listen, and keep going." - Americana Highways
